History of the Organization:
Mr. Harish Gambhir the Chairman of the company migrated to India from Pakistan during partition in 1947. Worked in Delhi initially and later came to Nagpur in Central India. Here he was initially carrying out repairs to large size of Oil Expellers in Cast Iron body in his Workshop. The experience with big oil expellers spurred Mr. Harish Gambhir to design, manufacture a small size of oil expeller in Steel Body of Channel frame with following objectives.
q Lower Crushing Capacity: of approx.15-20 and 30-40 Kg/hr with Motor rating 3 hp and 5 H.P.
q Low investment in terms of finance & physical infrastructure (less space to install) and minimum running costs/overheads.
q Simple technology requiring virtually no skills to operate and maintain easy to handle.
q Crushing of small quantity (even 5 Kg) of edible and non-edible seeds.
q Creating employment for farmers and cottage industries,
q High-income generation with minimum investment for small farmers and village industries.
Initially most people were doubtful about efficiency of small oil Expeller operating on 3H.P & 5 H.P with Chamber size of 15\'\'X2.25\'\' & 18\'\'X3\'\'. Mr. Gambhir offered the machines free to some customers for trial to be returned if not satisfied. The customers not only retained the machines and paid for them, but also came back to order for more such machines. Progress & Present Status
The organization gained strength with each passing year and sales continued to show rising trend. New models were introduced which found instant acceptance of customers since they were designed keeping in mind optimum operational efficiency and specific customer's requirements.
The Organization was founded, nurtured by Mr. Harish Gambhir, who was singly handling and running the show upto 1980. They're after an element of youth and fresh idea was introduced in the organization with his son Naresh Gambhir stepping in his shoes. Presently while Shri Harish Gambhir concentrates on Product development, Mr. Naresh Gambhir is in-charge of production and marketing.
Rajkumar Expeller Corporation is a Small Scale Unit consisting of two small workshops each employing 17/18 workers.
Most of the parts of the expeller and other agro machines are manufactured at the workshop itself.
Product Range and marketing process
The Firm manufactures a wide range of expellers though the emphasis is on small oil expellers. The product range varies from expellers running on 3 - H.P. Motor to 30 H P Motors, Pulveriser.from 1 HP to 20 HP.Rice Threashers in three sizes.Ground-nut Decorticator in various sizes.
For Oil mills extracting oil on commercial basis.
All the machines are useful for edible and non-edible oil extraction. Other products (supplied at customers option) Filter Press, Boilers, Steam Kettle and Decorticator Machine (Groundnut Shelling) etc.
1.There is a steady and increasing demand for the firm's products. The firm is not required to advertise much as satisfies customers are the biggest advertising media. The new customers mostly come with confirmed orders and give reference of an already satisfied customers.
2. The firm has appointed agents and dealers at even village level, who give demonstration of actual performance of machine to customers at near by places where RAJKUMAR EXPELLERS are installed. Many customers directly approach the firm. Nearly 80% sales are directly while rest is through the dealers and agents.
3. There is after sales service facility even though break down or a repair of machine is minimum or even negligible.
4. Most of the customers are small farmers and small businessman doing oil extraction on job-work basis. They either buy machine from own resources or mostly on loan from banks at village level. These customers are financed by banks under various self-employment schemes (social oriented loans) on soft repayment terms. As said earlier bulk of sales is in southern & central parts of India.
